The 3rd Co-design & co-creation Event of PULSE, titled “Formulating & Processing the Port-Cluster Landscape: Strategies Brainstorming (StrBr)”, will be held at DAD - UniGe on October 3rd-4th, 2024.

WHAT
Third and last of three Co-design and Co-creation events planned for 2023 and 2024, "Formulating & Processing the Port-Cluster Landscape: Strategies Brainstorming (StrBr)" is the international FINAL PULSE seminar based on debate and exchanges between different disciplines and between academia and institutional bodies on the topic of extended port cluster territories. Specifically, the event aims to reflect on strategies and approaches, implemented or being implemented, for the contemporary design of the extended port cluster spaces.

WHERE
The event is held at the University of Genoa (IT), Department Architecture and Design - DAD, Aula Edoardo Benvenuto, 4th floor.

Thursday 03rd October (afternoon) 2024, Friday 04th October (all day) 2024

MODALITY
The event is PUBLIC, registration and participation are FREE. The event is held IN PRESENCE.

5 THEMATIC SECTIONS

01 | PULSE NETWORKS
This section illustrates the national and international collaborations established by the PULSE project and functional to its implementation.
The FINAL event will be attended by AIVP - The Worldwide Network of Port Cities with the participation of Josè Sanchez (AIVP, Director of Agenda 2030).

02 | PULSE GUEST KEY-NOTE LECTURE
This section includes a lecture by an external international guest who is expert in the event's themes.
The FINAL event lecture will be given by Assistant Professor Jeffrey S. Nesbit (Tyler School of Arts, Temple University, Philadelphia, USA). 

03 | PULSE TRANSFERS
This section includes the report of the knowledge transfers carried out within the PULSE project at the DAD of UniGe within the COASTAL DESIGN AND OTHER EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS course. Illustration of the contents, methodology and results of the 2023/2024 "Solid Water & Port-City Architectures" course, with the participation of Matteo Vianello (IUAV, UniGe).

04 | PULSE TALKS
The section includes the presentation of contributions selected through the PULSE Call for Contributions (CforC) "The Port-Cluster Landscape: New Words, New Maps, New Strategies" selected through a double blind peer-review process. Each presentation will be given by the author(s) in person for a maximum of 12 minutes and will serve to present the theme, methodology and expected outcomes of the proposed work. 
The 15 contributions selected for the CforC will be presented in 3 sessions moderated by Host Institution professors who will take part in the closing debate with experts discussants. 

Guests Stefanos Antoniadis (FA.ULisboa), Gaia Daldanise (CNR IRISS, RETE), Benedetta Ettorre (UNI Vanvitelli, RETE), Francesca Morucci (North Tyrrhenian Port Network Authority) and Matteo Vianello (IUAV, UniGe) will participate as moderators and discussants in the sessions and the final debate. 

05 | PULSE PERSPECTIVES
This section will outline the structure, table of contents and some initial materials of the scientific monograph of the PULSE project, to be published in 2025. A glimpse of the contributions to the PULSE Scientific Monograph will be illustrated by the talk by Marc-Antoine Faure and César Ducruet (CNRS, EconomiX laboratory, University of Paris-Nanterre), authors of one of the Guest Essays.
