Context

PULSE originates and develops in a specific and very competitive context in terms of funding, program initiatives and laws as well as players involved.

In synergy with the researches of the Department Architecture and Design – DAD focused for years on coastal landscapes and port cities and in line with the New European Bauhaus Initiative and the UN’s SDGs, PULSE will formulate a toolkit of design strategies, lexical categories and multi-level maps aimed at recognizing port clusters as a challenging field for architecture and urban design.

PULSE is a two-year project funded by the European Union - Next Generation EU through the Italian Ministry of University and Research, as part of the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NNRP) - Mission 4 “Education and Research” - Component 2 “From Research to Business” - Investment 1.2 “Funding projects presented by young researchers”.

PULSE is winner of the Public Notice “Young Researchers” aimed to support the research activities of young individuals holding a “Seal of Excellence” following participation in Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships within the framework programs Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.

PULSE's dissemination and communication activities are part of the training programme of UniGe's Architecture and Design PhD program
